Council Works aims to meet WCAG 2.1 level AA across both this marketing site and the product we're building. Public sector accessibility is one of the reasons we exist, so this isn't a checkbox. It's a feature.

This site

The marketing site (councilworks.uk) is a single static HTML page with semantic structure, sufficient colour contrast, and a logical heading order. It works without JavaScript and is keyboard-navigable. Decorative icons are marked aria-hidden so screen readers skip them.

The product

The Council Works product is in development. We are building it WCAG 2.1 AA from the start and will publish a full conformance statement, with audit results, before the first council goes live.

If something on this site is hard to use, please click here to email us with as much detail as you can: the page, the browser, and any assistive technology you're using. We will reply within two working days and aim to fix accessibility issues within 14 days.
